Six Flags Great Adventure has big news for thrillseekers! The Jackson amusement park just finished laying the track for its new Jersey Devil roller coaster. Once open, it will be the world’s tallest, fastest and longest single-rail coaster. The last piece was installed yesterday, and topped off the coasters 130-foot high track. The countdown to a new owner for Conneaut Lake Park — who will maintain public access to the historic park — is underway. Calling it "a good plan," U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Jeffrey A. Deller on Tuesday approved Trustees of Conneaut Lake Park's motion to auction the park's assets for at least $1.2 million on March 2. James Earl Williams Jr. was just 9 years old the first time he visited Busch Gardens Williamsburg. The park was still new, and his uncle Roosevelt, a truck driver, stumbled upon it, bringing his family back for a day of family fun. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom has anchored itself in Vallejo since relocating from Redwood City in 1987 and rumors of the theme park sniffing around Fresno are unfounded, according to Vallejo city officials. The Times-Herald received an email late Thursday from a citizen claiming that Six Flags is “eventually going to move out of its present location to Fresno” presumably because the park was dissatisfied with the alleged slow progress of Mare Island and the Solano County Fairgrounds’ 360 Project.
