Get Ready to Scream! Universal Reveals Its Strange 2019 Halloween Horror Nights Maze
Hoard your Eggos and grab some Christmas lights, things are about to get strange at Universal theme parks!
It may be far from the season for scares, but Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort are already teasing their bravest park-goers with new thrills coming to Halloween Horror Nights in 2019.
The spooky event will once again feature a haunted maze inspired by the hugely popular supernatural series Stranger Things, but this year’s experience will pick up where the last left off, featuring inspiration from seasons 2 and 3 (which premieres July 4) of the Netflix show.

SeaWorld's newest roller coaster is set to open just in time for the summer.
The park's Tidal Twister roller coast will welcome its first riders on May 24, after breaking ground just last October. Tidal Twister joins the park's other coasters, Electric Eel and Manta, in offering a different theme park experience than what SeaWorld is traditionally known for.
The roller coast zips riders ahead at 30 miles per hour, before twisting and turning along a figure-8 track and through a Zero-G roll in the center of the ride, 16 feet above the ground.

Cedar Fair is buying the land under California's Great America for about $150 million
SANTA CLARA, CA
Cedar Fair Entertainment Co. (NYSE: FUN) is on firmer ground with one of its California amusement parks.
The Sandusky-based operator of amusement and water parks announced in a news release on Wednesday morning, March 27, that it has agreed to buy, for about $150 million, the land upon which its California's Great America amusement park is located.

Disney's Hollywood Studios Begins Making Room for MASSIVE Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Line
Though we were expecting a late fall opening for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios earlier this month it was confirmed that construction on this land is actually ahead of schedule, with an opening date now set for August 29, 2019. And though Disney is only opening one attraction with this land (Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will be opening at an undisclosed later date), they are still anticipating a massive influx of guests to show up to check out this new land when it opens in just a few months, and have begun making room for what will certainly be a massive line to get in to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.
Guests who experienced Pandora: The World of Avatar during its opening weeks will likely recall when Disney had to use the bridge to this land from Discovery Island as a holding area for guests waiting to get into the popular land when it was at capacity. And while this bridge was a natural area for guests to wait just outside the edge of Pandora, Disney's Hollywood Studios doesn't have a super easy structure like this that is out of the way enough for a massive queue to sit without disrupting other areas of the park. However, Disney has begun work on a solution to this issue.

Playland has announced that it will open for the 2019 season on May 4.
Vancouver’s favourite amusement park adds that admission to Playland gives you unlimited access to over 35 rides and attractions, which includes three new rides. In addition, the Pacific Adventure Mini Golf is now included for free with the price of admission.
In January Ellocoaster compiled its second annual Wood Coaster Poll by polling riders from across the globe, and Playland’s iconic wooden coaster made the top 25. In 2009, the American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE) named the Coaster an ACE Roller Coaster Landmark, a designation that is reserved for rides of “historical significance.”
This June, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando is adding a new ride: Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. It's an exciting addition to the park, and Tom Felton is very eager to talk about it. Felton portrayed Draco Malfoy in the eight Harry Potter films and couldn't resist dropping a few hints about what to expect from the ride.
"It's a high speed roller coaster that's taking place through the Forbidden Forest [with] Hagrid as your guide," noted Felton. “There shall be many a fantastic beast along the way."
Felton also confirmed that the ride will feature a creature from Harry Potter that has never been depicted in any of the films.
Six Flags Magic Mountain has confirmed that it will remove its Green Lantern: First Flight coaster, which has not run at the park for the last couple years.
Here's the official statement from the park:
The Green Lantern: First Flight roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain is scheduled to be removed at a later, undetermined date to make room for future development. The park has no plans to open the ride before it is removed. Six Flags Magic Mountain, the “Thrill Capital of the World,” continues to have an unparalleled world-class roller coaster collection. The park is open daily and will debut the world’s first dual racing launch coaster, West Coast Racers, later this year.
The Intamin ZacSpin coaster opened in 2011. Here's our ride from opening day:
