TAMPA BAY, FL
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has made some modifications to its high-speed Iron Gwazi roller coaster after a guest reported a minor injury.
In a statement, the theme park said the guest reported hitting his hand on a beam while riding the roller coaster.
“The safety of our guests is our highest priority and all of our rides are designed and installed according to all applicable standards, manufacturer specifications and include specific ride restrictions for the safety of our guests,” the theme park said in a statement. “Out of an abundance of caution, the morning after this situation, crews removed two beams from the area where the guest reported this situation occurred. We took the precautionary step to remove them as part of our commitment to the health and safety of our guests.”
Six Flags opens for the 2022 season this weekend and visitors will notice some changes to one of the park’s most popular rides. There’s a new ride coming to Six Flags White Water this season, too.
“As we prepare for a new season of thrills, our parks are buzzing with excitement,” said Park President Dale Kaetzel. “We consistently look at ways to refine our offerings to elevate the guest experience, and we’re eager to welcome guests back to both parks this spring.”

The return of Medusa and a renovated kids area are among the changes Six Flags Great Adventure is set to unveil when the theme park in Jackson re-opens next month.
Six Flags will also open a new eatery and has renovated two other dining areas. It also promises shorter lines for rides and getting into the park through enhanced technology.
Knoebels Amusement Park will have a new ride in 2023.
Park officials said Knoebels recently acquired two Bayern Kurve rides — one from the Fun Spot Park in Angola, Ind., that debuted at Expo 67 in Montreal and another that traveled around Europe and the United States in a carnival circuit. The goal is to refurbish the ride over the next year. The rides are believed to be two of six in the world.
The wait for the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind has seemed like a relentless one. We found out in November 2021 that the attraction will officially open at EPCOT this Summer.
We are still waiting for an exact opening date although recently a leaked date of Memorial Day Weekend (May 30, 2022). was tweeted and then deleted. There has still not been a confirmed opening date from Disney as of yet.
