A new Era of Terror is coming for the 20th anniversary of Busch Gardens ® Howl-O-Scream ®. Fear abounds within the park’s collection of elaborate haunted houses, immersive themed scare zones, challenging escape rooms and darkly entertaining live shows. This means more scares are in store for unsuspecting guests during the popular fall event. With so many new Howl-O-Scream attractions on tap, Busch Gardens will reveal new scares on the 20th day of each month through Aug. 20 until the full line-up is announced. The energies of the vortex have opened portals to other realms where humans are hunted by monsters, where aliens are in control and the virtual has become reality. New Terror-tory™: Fools’ Court™ Guests will experience Jester characters in Fools’ Court scare zone, where chaos reigns supreme. When the Motley Fools hit the streets, the joke always will be on you. Next week, visitors to Navy Pier will be able to pay tribute to a special invention. On June 21, Navy Pier will celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Ferris Wheel. "It's exciting to be celebrating the anniversary and to be teaming up with Santa Monica Pier for this," said Payal Patel, spokeswoman for Navy Pier. "We decided to come together to have a summer celebration from the West Coast to the Midwest." Splash Away Bay waterpark at Quassy Amusement Park opens Category 5 Rapids – Extreme Waterslides. Three new gigantic water raft rides with a combined length of more than 1,000 feet were constructed during the off season, bringing to 15 the number of slides in the lakeside complex. The new slides were provided by ProSlide Technology, Inc., of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. ProSlide was the vendor for the existing 12 slides at the attraction, which was first introduced in 2003 as Saturation Station. The Volusia County Fire Department says that two people have fallen 34 feet from a roller coaster in Daytona Beach. They say they got a call at about 8:31 p.m. that the incident was occurring at the boardwalk in Daytona Beach. One of the cars was dangling off the rails. Other people were stuck on the other carts. The Gurnee village board will consider approving a $4 million tax incentive program for Six Flags Great America next week. The money would help the park offset the $15 million in capital improvements officials plan to complete in the next seven years. Jack Linehan, the assistant to the village administrator, said Wednesday the money would go toward infrastructure work and security enhancements. A man from Illinois has been arrested for assaulting a Six Flags of St Louis employee wearing a Daffy Duck costume. KSDK-TV St Louis reports police have launched an investigation after a 23-year-old man grabbed the bill of the Daffy Duck costume worn by one of the park’s employees.
