A popular ride at Mountain Creek Waterpark was heavily damaged by a fire on Tuesday, days before the Vernon attraction was slated to open for the summer, a park spokesperson said. The fire on the High Anxiety ride was reported around 7:30 p.m. and captured the attention of residents near and far who watched as the gray smoke billowed from the mountaintop. A group of Six Flags Great Adventure customers were evaluated by first aiders and two were taken to a hospital on Sunday after a malfunction happened on the park's Log Flume attraction, a Six Flags spokeswoman said. New information provided to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office details how someone lit a fire inside Silverwood Theme Park on Saturday. Security at Silverwood Theme Park said someone cut a hole in their fence, poured gasoline on the wooden roller coaster and tried to light it on fire.
