Thrill-seekers will have the opportunity to visit Cedar Point at a discount from 2005 prices before hopping on the park's newest thrill-ride, the $6 million Skyhawk.Cedar Point has confirmed that the Sandusky, Ohio park will receive the fourth "Screamin' Swing" ride from S&S Power for 2006, and that it will be placed in Frontiertown beside the Snake River Falls splashdown ride.Along with the new ride - which will not be an upcharge attraction like its older counterparts - Cedar Point will be reducing general admission rates by $5 to
$39.95 while senior and junior tickets will remain at the end-of-year special offered in 2005 of $9.95. This comes after recent concerns of overpriced tickets. The park is touting its 40-passenger version of the increasingly-popular ride as the largest of its kind in the world, and according to official announcements, it will stand exactly three feet higher than sister park Valleyfair's Xtreme Swing next year, but swing to the same height - 125 feet - at up to 60 miles per hour. The announcement confirms that the five acres of land left unoccupied after the removal of White Water Landing will be used for another future expansion, likely a major ride if Cedar Point's history speaks for the future.

Yet again have Cedar Point has announced plans for something new! On Tuesday they officially announced that they are to build a 51,000-square-foot indoor water park resort. It is a major expansion to the existing Radisson Harbour Inn situated at the front of the cedar point causeway and will cost something around $22million. “Castaway Bay” as it’s to be called will be open all year round and is due to open in November 2004. It will have a tropical Caribbean theme and feature 237 hotel rooms and suits for the whole family. The water park itself will be some 38,000-square-foot itself and will house: · a rousing 35-foot-high, 520-foot-long water roller coaster that will propel riders uphill using water jets. This unique water coaster will twist its way through the water-park, shoot outside the resort’s structure in an enclosed slide and then spiral back into an indoor splash pool; · a total of 12 exhilarating water slides in various sizes for sliders of all ages that will provide a rush of excitement for all thrill seekers. · a 100,000-gallon wave pool that will generate 3-foot-tall waves which guests can body surf in true “hang ten” style. A cascading waterfall will serve as a scenic backdrop; · a children’s play pool chock-full of slides, tipping buckets, spraying gadgets and sea creature play structures designed especially for kids; · an action-packed 80,000-gallon activity pool with interactive elements for pre-teen to water enthusiasts such as overhead nets, footbridges, floating logs and treasure chests to walk over around that test skill and agility; · a gigantic multi-story interactive play area with more than 100 different elements, including a 1,000-gallon tipping bucket that will drench guests every 10 minutes with a downpour of water; · two 50-person whirlpool spas (one indoor and one outdoor) where guests can kick back and relax in a calming atmosphere. To get to the outdoor whirlpool spa, guests will simply swim through an opening in a natural grotto formation · a snack bar to satisfy hungry water-goers so there’s no need to leave the water-park for some munchies! The wetter, the better they say. Is this the key to Cedar Points tourist catch or just a waste of time? Well we will just have to wait and see. It will make the ideal getaway for all members of the family all year round. No matter what the weather. There’s no better way to hit dry, high class, extreme thrill rides by day and by the evening have a nice long soak in a hot spring surrounded by tropical palm trees! Now wouldn’t that be nice! Heaven??? Thought so!
