SeaWorld has teamed up with Sesame Workshop, the creators of Sesame Street, to open a Sesame Place theme park in San Diego. The new park is slated to open in Spring of 2021 and is the first Sesame Place theme park on the West Coast."As we celebrate Sesame Street's 50 th anniversary, we are excited to share the news of a major opportunity for kids and families to connect with and learn from the brand and its beloved characters," said Steve Youngwood, president, Media & Education and chief operating officer, Sesame Workshop.
"The opening of Sesame Place San Diego will give guests a unique and powerful way to experience Sesame Street, enable us to connect with even more families, and further our educational mission,” he added.
SeaWorld promises Sesame Place will be filled with “family rides, water slides, live character shows, parades, and interactive experiences” in a learning environment. The new park will open on the site of Aquatic San Diego, which will reportedly close next year.
Thousands of people heading to HalloWeekends at Cedar Point on Saturday night got a frightening surprise.
Park officials announced on social media they were nearing capacity and had to restrict admission. They asked guests to come back on Sunday or next weekend, which is the last weekend of the season.
At one point, Cedar Point Road and Cedar Point Drive were temporarily closed, but have since reopened to traffic.

Now in its 19th season, the nighttime-only event features seven macabre mazes, six scare zones, a couple of live shows, a selection of death-defying roller coasters and more than 400 scare actors in full makeup roaming the park and looking for victims.

A buyout consortium led by Blackstone <BX.N> sent a frisson through debt markets this week as it took advantage of a booming appetite for bonds to push through aggressive terms on financing for its leveraged buyout of Merlin Entertainments.
Merlin, which owns and operates Legoland and Madam Tussauds, took on more than $3 billion of debt to help to fund Blackstone's bid to take the company private in a deal worth $7.5 billion agreed in June, one of the largest European private equity transactions in recent years.

Before it closes for good, someone will take the 46 millionth ride of Vortex at Kings Island.Kings Island spokesman Chad Showalter said more people have been riding Vortex since the park announced this would be its final season.
Sometime during the final weekends of Halloween Haunt and Great Pumpkin Fest, that milestone ride will be given, according to Showalter.
Showalter said Vortex is the seventh-most ridden ride of all time at Kings Island. It peaked in 1987 when 2.2 million rides were given.
