No traffic issues like that that could come close to what happened Saturday," Orzech said. A park spokesperson attributed the volume primarily to the popularity of HalloWeekends and the fortunate weather. Though some guests speculated the 150th Anniversary Gold Passes played a part. Authorities allege an Allentown teen slashed a girl at Dorney Park and bit the man who tried to stop him as he tried to make his escape. South Whitehall Township police charged Jorge A. Otero Jr. with multiple counts of assault following the alleged attack Saturday night. District Judge Rashid Santiago arraigned the 18-year-old Sunday morning, setting bail at $20,000. Township police responded to Dorney Park shortly before 7:30 p.m. Saturday to investigate a report of a stabbing. Authorities allege Otero pulled a razor blade from his pocket and slashed a juvenile female across the left hand, according to court records. Police said the victim sustained a large cut to her hand. SeaWorld has teamed up with Sesame Workshop, the creators of Sesame Street, to open a Sesame Place theme park in San Diego. The new park is slated to open in Spring of 2021 and is the first Sesame Place theme park on the West Coast."As we celebrate Sesame Street's 50 th anniversary, we are excited to share the news of a major opportunity for kids and families to connect with and learn from the brand and its beloved characters," said Steve Youngwood, president, Media & Education and chief operating officer, Sesame Workshop. "The opening of Sesame Place San Diego will give guests a unique and powerful way to experience Sesame Street, enable us to connect with even more families, and further our educational mission,” he added. SeaWorld promises Sesame Place will be filled with “family rides, water slides, live character shows, parades, and interactive experiences” in a learning environment. Thousands of people heading to HalloWeekends at Cedar Point on Saturday night got a frightening surprise. Park officials announced on social media they were nearing capacity and had to restrict admission. They asked guests to come back on Sunday or next weekend, which is the last weekend of the season. At one point, Cedar Point Road and Cedar Point Drive were temporarily closed, but have since reopened to traffic. Happy Carter said it took three hours to finally get into the park. Universal Orlando Resort has revealed that its Annual Passholders will be able to enjoy special perks like new exclusive park entrances and a private lounge during 2020. For a limited time, Annual and Seasonal Passholders will be able to enter Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure through an exclusive entrance from park open to park close from January 4 – January 31, 2020. Now in its 19th season, the nighttime-only event features seven macabre mazes, six scare zones, a couple of live shows, a selection of death-defying roller coasters and more than 400 scare actors in full makeup roaming the park and looking for victims. Merlin, which owns and operates Legoland and Madam Tussauds, took on more than $3 billion of debt to help to fund Blackstone's bid to take the company private in a deal worth $7.5 billion agreed in June, one of the largest European private equity transactions in recent years. Analysts and investors are worried that the European Central Bank's unprecedented stimulus program is driving investors into riskier debt. They expressed concerns about aggressive terms both on pricing and in the debt documentation on the Merlin fundraising. Blackstone did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Before it closes for good, someone will take the 46 millionth ride of Vortex at Kings Island.Kings Island spokesman Chad Showalter said more people have been riding Vortex since the park announced this would be its final season. Sometime during the final weekends of Halloween Haunt and Great Pumpkin Fest, that milestone ride will be given, according to Showalter. Showalter said Vortex is the seventh-most ridden ride of all time at Kings Island. It peaked in 1987 when 2.2 million rides were given. FULL STORY |
