How can SeaWorld make money from a dining annual pass that costs visitors less than $1 a day?
SAN DIEGO, CA
SeaWorld San Diego is rolling out a new dining plan that will let annual passholders dine at the marine park’s restaurants for lunch and dinner every day of the year for less than $1 a day.
The new 2020 All-Season Dining Pass at SeaWorld theme parks in the United States costs $120 per year. To sweeten the pot, SeaWorld will throw in free meals for the rest of 2019 for annual passholders who buy the dining season pass now.
How is that possible? Believe it or not, dining season passes are incredibly profitable for theme parks. Six Flags and Cedar Fair executives regularly boast during quarterly reports about the ever-increasing revenue generated from season dining plans. SeaWorld is simply jumping on a burgeoning industry trend.
