Mom's lawsuit claims fright at Dorney's Halloween Haunt caused her daughter's injuries
Like your mother always said, it’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt.
A Lehigh County mom claims Dorney Park’s Halloween Haunt crossed that line from fun frights to traumatic terror for her teenage daughter.
In a lawsuit filed last week in Lehigh County Court, Shannon Sacco and her daughter seek more than $150,000 in damages from Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom and its parent company, Cedar Fair of Sandusky, Ohio, for injuries they say the girl suffered when a park employee allegedly scared her off her feet.
The suit alleges the companies were negligent in their operation of the Halloween Haunt attraction, in part for failing to inform Sacco or her daughter that they could buy a glow-in-the-dark “No Boo” necklace to ward off employees masquerading as monsters.
Dorney Park spokeswoman Tana Korpics said it was inappropriate for the company to comment on litigation.
